About The Position

This is a full-time, night shift Registered Nurse position in the Float Pool department, located in the Chicago Metro Area, Illinois. The role involves working in a high-acuity, critical care environment. Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License
  • Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current (Only required for floating into E.R., O.R., PACU, Day Patient)
  • NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services
  • TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department
  • Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe, effective patient care using the nursing process
  • Floats across two or more units as needed and maintains unit competencies
  • Delivers direct patient care within RN scope of practice
  • Guides patient and family education
  • Oversees support staff while upholding professional nursing standards
  • Accountable for care of assigned patients
  • Communicates patient condition changes and diagnostic results to physicians
  • Responds promptly to changes in patient status or treatment
  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality
