About The Position

Crouse's Endoscopy team is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for patients of all ages receiving inpatient or outpatient surgeries and endoscopic procedures with anesthesia. The Endoscopy RN covers various areas and assists the Anesthesia provider in the provision of deep sedation and administer moderate sedation, and maintaining presence in fluoroscopy cases. Other procedures include assistance with ERCPs, PEG Tube insertions, Bronchoscopies as assigned, and maintain the Argon Plasma Coagulator and the ERBE machine.

Requirements

  • Must have a current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program required.
  • For RNs licensed in or after 2017, completion of a Bachelor's of Nursing Degree will be required within 8 years of the date the license was obtained.
  • Two (2) years Critical Care experience or combination of experience from Endoscopy, Cardiac, ICU or PACU experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Certification in a specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
  • Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
  • Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay.
  • Utilizes and engages in evidence-based practice to deliver quality patient care.
  • Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem-solving situations.
