About The Position

You will be responsible for delivering patient care in the Emergency Department through the nursing process, including interview, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and triage. The Emergency Department (ED) at Canyon Vista Medical Center is a 22-bed unit operating within a trauma III hospital setting, emphasizing teamwork and effective communication for optimal patient care.

Requirements

  • Current Arizona or compact state RN license
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, HAZMAT and Handle with Care certifications are required within 90 days of hire.
  • TNCC required within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred
  • One year of experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
