About The Position

Texas Health Arlington Memorial is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Emergency Department. This is a full-time, mid-shift position (1p-1a), working 3/12 hour shifts per week, totaling 36 hours a week. The ED is a 50-bed unit, including a vertical treatment area called the JET (joint evaluation and treatment). It is a Level 3 trauma center and is accredited through TJC for Chest pain, CHF, and stroke, having received a gold plus level for all three programs. Texas Health Arlington Memorial is a 369-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital serving the community since 1958, located in central Arlington. It offers comprehensive cardiac care, women’s services, neurosciences, emergency medicine, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an accredited Acute Heart Failure Center, wellness services, outpatient surgery, and women’s imaging services. The hospital is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center, a Cycle III Chest Pain Center, and a designated Magnet hospital. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • PALS - within 90 days of hire
  • TNCC - within 12 months of hire
  • ATCN - Advanced Trauma Care Nurse – within 12 months of hire
  • 1 year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • At least 1 year of ER or Critical Care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
