About The Position
Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
- For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- A minimum of one (1) year of emergency RN experience.
- The follow certifications upon completion of department orientation: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke PSA/ACE (during orientation) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention
- The following courses/certifications within one (1) year of completing department orientation: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- Note: All certifications must be maintained thereafter.
- ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
- FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
Nice To Haves
- Certification in nursing specialty area.
