Our team is growing, and we're looking to bring on an RN Trainer to instruct our PCA Training classes in our Southern Tier region, Binghamton. This position will support our four year NYS Department of Health Direct Caregiver Flexibility Grant, which allow us to provide equitable access to caregiver certification and strengthening the Southern Tier healthcare workforce. Lead. Mentor. Elevate Care. As a RN Instructor/Mentor, you will: Deliver PCA training in accordance with NYSDOH regulations and agency standards in Binghamton with potential for occasional travel to other southern tier areas such as Elmira, Corning, and Hornell Conduct clinical competency evaluations, field visits (Broome County), and on-site observations Lead continuing education and in-service programs Mentor and support personal care aides Complete onsite employee evaluations in the field Manage LMS systems, attendance tracking, and training documentation Participate in CQI initiatives, audits, and quality improvement efforts Provide intermittent home visits (e.g., medication pre-fills) Collaborate across departments to resolve classroom and staffing issues Contribute to curriculum updates and regulatory compliance Participate in on-call rotation Collaborating with training, workforce, and community partners to ensure grant deliverables are met Travel required HOURS: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office, Classroom, Field (client homes), Virtual meetings MEDIUM WORK: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requirements

  • NYS Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • A graduate of an accredited nursing school holding a Diploma, Bachelor's, or Master's Degree.
  • Two years experience as a registered nurse with at least one year of RN experience in home care.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities within both professional and paraprofessional healthcare practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients, or agency employees.
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations related to medication calculations, American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Strong organizational writing skills, effective communication abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations. Ability to solve practical problems and manage various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.

  • Auditing PCA duties and processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Familiarity with the PCATP curriculum that aligns with professional standards, quality guidelines, and industry requirements.
  • Creating educational materials, assessing new and existing education strategies, and reviewing teaching practices and procedures
