Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
• Must possess current BLS Certification

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor in Nursing preferred.
• ACLS preferred.
• Telemetry, ekg experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the delivery of optimal patient care utilizing the Nursing Process, and adhering to standards of care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Exhibits critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Performs complete, accurate documentation (PIs, data collection, admission assessments, POC, etc.) in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Identifies individualized patient/significant other’s learning needs and implements appropriate measures to address identified knowledge deficits.
• Demonstrates knowledge, respect, and sensitivity concerning patients’ rights.
• Serves as a patient advocate.
• Assures confidentiality of patient information.
• Maintains effective communication with all staff, physicians, patients, families and other departments.
• Participates in the development of standards and unit performance improvement activities.
