About The Position

Yoakum Community Hospital is seeking a dedicated and leadership-oriented Registered Charge Nurse to join their clinical team. This role functions under the direction of the Department Director, performing safe, effective clinical care while overseeing unit operations. The hospital is open to full-time and PRN candidates. The Charge Nurse will balance administrative oversight with hands-on patient care, ensuring unit efficiency, fostering a collaborative team environment, and upholding the core values of R.I.S.E. In this position, the Charge Nurse will serve as a vital resource for peers and a primary advocate for patients.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• Current RN License issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Active Certifications: Must maintain BLS (CPR), ACLS, and PALS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the activities of RNs, LVNs, Nurse Aides, and Unit Secretaries.
• Complete RN admission databases within 24 hours and perform regular rounds to adjust care plans based on patient condition.
• Maintain readiness to handle clinical interventions and demonstrate competency in procedures across various patient age groups.
• Act as a patient advocate, ensuring effective communication between families, practitioners, and the healthcare team.
• Ensure all nursing interventions, patient responses, and drug information are documented accurately in accordance with HIPAA and standards of practice.
• Manage the utilization of manpower, equipment, and supplies to maintain high-quality care and unit flow.
