About The Position

Lovelace Medical Center is seeking a full-time, night shift ICU Charge Nurse in Albuquerque, NM. The hospital is an acute care facility with 263 licensed beds, offering comprehensive services including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services. Requirements

  • Minimum: Associate degree or Diploma of Nursing
  • One (1) year of Charge Nurse experience in a hospital setting OR more than one year of clinical or management experience
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • CPR
  • Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • National Certification in clinical specialty care

Responsibilities

  • The Charge RN is responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, including the nursing management of the patient and staff of the assigned area in his/her charge.
  • Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies, and other operational functions.
  • Collaborates with the unit managers and/or directors in developing and revising unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Serves as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
