This Surgical Services unit functions within Bloomington Hospital, where we have 14 operating rooms and 2 open-heart rooms. Our Surgical Services team members perform a variety of services, including cardiovascular, gynecological, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and DaVinci procedures. Shift Requirements (CVOR): 4-10-hour shifts from 7a – 5p. In addition, the CVOR team is on call every 3rd weekend and 2-3-days throughout the week. Candidates must be able to be at the Bloomington facility within 30 minutes of on-call notice. Nursing skills gained on this unit: Circulator RN experience Develop phenomenal procedural skills Understand the world of surgical services from Pre/Post, OR room, Endo, PACU, and more Refine time management skills

Requirements

  • Requires 1+ years of clinical RN experience
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
