About The Position

Full Time Position for the Utah Valley Heart Clinic The Cardiac Device Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, coordinating, planning, implementation and evaluating care of patients who have had Cardiac Devices implanted for treatment or diagnosis of cardiac related rhythms. The Cardiac Device Nurse coordinates the interrogation, programming, and triaging of implanted devices’ data, acquired during in-clinic visits or through remote transmissions. The role also serves to educate patients, providers, and other clinical staff on the utility of implantable devices, the intricacies of device functionality and data, and the role these devices play in the management of arrhythmia patients. Posting Specifics Benefits Eligible: Yes Shift Details: Full time (40 budgeted hours). 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday. Unit/Location: Utah Valley Clinic Preferred Qualifications: RN with inpatient or outpatient Cardiology experience preferred. Additional Information: This position will be seated in Utah Valley Cardiology but will support our Cardiology clinics in other locations as well.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Practice specific certification as required by the clinical setting in which they work (i.e., ACLS, PALS, etc.).
  • Previous Cardiology experience; ECG, Tele Unit, CV ICU, Cath Lab, or CV positions within industry etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, multi-task, and follow-though on details.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an RN
  • Previous experience in arrhythmia management and implanted cardiac devices.
  • IBHRE (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners) certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree related field.

Responsibilities

  • Interrogating implanted devices, monitoring and documenting patients’ response to therapy or changes in device settings, programming adjustments per physician's order
  • Addressing and prioritizing remote transmissions and alert management, including troubleshooting devices.
  • Maintain Device Clinic Database: Responsible for all aspects of the clinic database.
  • Respond to patient needs: provide patient education regarding devices and respond to calls for device related issues from patients, providers, and vendors.
  • Commitment to continuing education in implantable device procedures and technology.
  • Works with compliance to develop, implement and follow through on action plans when industry device recall and advisories occur.
