Job Summary: Under the general direction of nursing leadership and with provider collaboration and guidance, the Registered Nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and policies and procedures of Hartford Healthcare Hospital Outpatient Departments (HODs) and Medical Group, in a variety of clinical settings. This position facilitates care for a varied population of patients, which includes nursing standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Associate’s degree in Nursing.
  • Successful completion of nurse residency, if applicable.
  • One year of experience with a minimum of 1000 hours of clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse.
  • Registered Nurse, State of CT
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Must be able to effectively communicate information in English.
  • Applies the principles and practices of nursing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and evaluate patient care.
  • Knowledge of high reliability.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Uses communication skills to foster a healthy work environment and facilitate positive patient outcomes and experience.
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families and co-workers.
  • Strong knowledge of care for age specific populations.
  • Strong ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to be flexible with changes in schedule and locations
  • Self-directed in clinical responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple clinical priorities.
  • Strong computer skills and use of industry applications/programs. Ability to learn new technology and programs as advancements and changes are implemented.
  • Ability to adhere to OSHA regulations and Infection Control Standards
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications may be required in specific specialties
  • Certification in a specialty a plus.
  • Ability to speak another language in addition to English a plus.
  • Membership in a professional nursing organization preferred.
