Registered Nurse - Acute - Surgical/Ortho (with Med/Surg Residency option)
About The Position
The Registered Nurse-Acute functions as a vital member of the healthcare team by demonstrating a customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism self-development, and teamwork. The individual utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families. The Registered Nurse-Hospital is expected to demonstrate excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills and make decisions consistent with hospital policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act. 7 North is a 29 bed patient care unit within the department of Adult Medical Surgical Services. The unit provides inpatient-nursing care to patients utilizing a Synergy Model of Care. Patients can be admitted with Orthopedic, Urology, Plastic, Vascular, Wound Healing, and GYN-Oncology Surgical care needs, along with non-surgical medical treatment needs.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in nursing.
- Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment.
- Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Two years’ hospital nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
- Certification in specific area of Medical-Surgical Nursing per staff interest
