Location: Good Samaritan Hospital, 375 Dixmyth Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45220 Work Hours: Full-time, 64 hours bi-weekly Day shift Weekend and Holiday rotation Position Overview This position is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory tests, confirming the accuracy of test results, and reporting laboratory findings to the doctors, pathologists, or other physicians. This position may work in any of the major areas of the laboratory: Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry and Fibrinolysis. This position operates and maintains a variety of laboratory instruments, utilizes laboratory computer system in performance of duties, maintains strict adherence to established policies and procedures, and works under the supervision of a general supervisor, but works independently. Direct supervision is not required for specimen processing, test performance or result reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, Chemical or Biological Science (Required)
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification or American Medical Technologists (AMT) Required
  • Ability to Prioritize/Organize/Handle Quantity of Work
  • Accuracy/Quality/Completeness of Work
  • Complex Assignments Received/Delegated/Completed
  • Judgement Skills/Problem Solving Skills
  • Overall Procedure Knowledge/Quality Assurance Knowledge – including documentation as needed
  • Color Vision
  • Visual Acuity: Far

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 2 years’ experience clinical in a related field (Preferred)
