About The Position

The Registered Dietitian is the nutrition professional that develops and oversees the implementation of nutrition interventions/prescriptions for patients nutrition diagnosis. Responsible for coordinating the plan of care/interventions and consulting with other members of the health care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Practice (Nutrition Assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, Nutrition Intervention/Plan of Care and Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation. Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Professional Performance (Quality In Practice, Competency/Accountability, Provisions of Services, Application of Research, Communication and Applications of Knowledge and Utilization and Management of Resources). Uses Nutrition Care Process (NCP) ADIME-assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation for patient's nutritional assessment. Performs Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) and documenting clinical criteria to demonstrate patients with malnutrition. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team regarding patients nutrition plan of care. Completes yearly department competency and other performance improvement projects as assigned. Uses Evidence Based Practice in patient care. Serves as a preceptor to dietetic interns. Employee has 90 days from hire to get their secondary state license.

Requirements

  • Less than 1 year Applicable Experience
  • Licensed Dietician (KS) - Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services
  • Licensed Dietician (MO) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
  • Registered Dietitian - Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Bachelor's Degree
