About The Position

This position will assist the dentist and the dental hygienist in providing dental care to clinic patients.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and equipment.
  • High level of professionalism, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships.
  • Ability to pleasantly and effectively represent the organization.
  • Graduate degree from an Accredited Dental Assisting program or CDA.
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience.
  • Registered Dental Assistant with the Dental Board of California.
  • X-ray certified.
  • Sealant certified.
  • Coronal polish certified.
  • Ultrasonic certified.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.
  • El Proyecto will reimburse employees for their mileage at the current rate set by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • To receive mileage reimbursement, the employee must log their mileage and submit the mileage expense report to their Appropriate Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for dental procedures, including seating and draping.
  • Assist the dentist during procedures, such as handling isntruments, rinsing, and suctioning.
  • Take dental X-rays and teeth impressions for study casts.
  • Perform coronal polishing.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition.
  • Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment.
  • Comply with dental infection control protocols.
  • Prepare treatment rooms.
  • Mix dental materials.
  • Provide post-procedure care and instructions.
  • Update patient records.
  • Monitor and maintain dental supply inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
