About The Position

This position will be part of a unique program of behavioral support that will be infused throughout all FRIENDS programs. The RBT will provide services in person including implementation of therapeutic services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) under the supervision of a BCBA. This position will provide behavioral services and support including, but not limited to: Applied Behavioral Analysis, milieu management, intervention planning, implementation of Behavioral Individual Service and Supports Plans (B-ISSPs) and data tracking. The RBT actively supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to choose and achieve the highest quality of life. The RBT promotes the Organization’s mission, vision and core values.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform basic computer operations: Microsoft, Office Suite programs and Therap.
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and ability to meet agency’s driving requirements
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and understand others through verbal, written, and/or non-verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and maintain detailed documentation, records and reports
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Willingness and ability to work as a team player will all employees and other departments and adapt when needed.
  • Ability to work in a flexible and constantly changing work environment and to deal effectively with shifting roles, responsibilities and expectations

  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in behavior analysis while maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Work cooperatively with all FRIENDS departments, the Director of Behavior Services, and community resources
  • Display passion and grit to manage change in client behavior and/or client processes.
  • Holds a certification of good standing as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through BACB.
  • Must be able to complete and have a certification in good standing as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the BACB within 6 months of start date.
  • 12 consecutive months of experience in the IDD field providing direct services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective and quality ABA services to participants enrolled in the Behavior Services Department under the guidance of the BCBA.
  • Follow the behavior intervention plans designed by the BCBA to address specific behavioral goals for each person.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy to adults in various settings, including day programs, employment sites, their homes and the community.
  • Assist with the development of individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the BCBA to develop and make updates or modifications to behavior plans as needed.
  • Directly implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction techniques with participants under the supervision of BCBA to address challenging behaviors.
  • Assist participants in acquiring and developing functional skills, communication abilities and appropriate social behaviors.
  • Utilize approved behavior reduction techniques and strategies as outlined in the behavior intervention plan to address challenging behaviors.
  • Help to prevent and minimize behavior challenges and manage behavior crises.
  • Maintain open communication with the BCBA, caregivers, and other team members involved in the client's services and support.
  • Provide feedback and report participant progress to BCBA.
  • Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors and responses during therapy sessions, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the BCBA to track and report client progress towards behavioral goals and make necessary adjustments to the intervention plan when required.
  • Complete required paperwork, progress reports, and session notes in a timely manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
