About The Position

Under the guidance of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will assist in delivering high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other disabilities. The RBT provides direct, one-on-one behavioral therapy, employing evidence-based strategies to foster communication, social skills, and daily living abilities. This position is responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans, tracking participant's progress, and facilitating positive behavioral change. Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, team members, and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Familiarity with ABA principles, methodologies, and interventions.
  • Proficiency in collecting, recording, and analyzing data related to participant behaviors to assess progress and adapt treatment plans.
  • Ability to remain patient and show empathy when working with participants.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and other team members to ensure cohesive care for participants.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address unexpected challenges during therapy sessions.
  • Ability to conduct tasks and successfully perform under critical deadlines.
  • Capability to manage time efficiently, balancing multiple tasks, and adhering to schedules and treatment timelines.
  • Willingness to adapt and modify strategies based on participant needs, progress, or changes in the environment.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completing a minimum of 40 hours of training covering the RBT Task List conducted by a BACB-approved provider.
  • Must possess a current and active RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Current CPI certification within 30 days of employment
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to engage in physical activity with participants, including kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to sit at a computer in a typical office environment for prolonged periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records, and files.
  • Must be able to climb stairs as needed.
  • Flexibility and readiness to travel between work locations, be in transit or in temporary workspaces, as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize appropriate methods for working with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
  • Deliver Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) interventions in a one-on-one setting, following individualized treatment plans to promote skill acquisition and behavioral enhancement.
  • Uphold confidentiality and safeguard all sensitive information per HIPAA regulations and Opportunity Village policies.
  • Promptly report any incidents, concerns, or significant behavioral changes to the supervising BCBA or the Director of Residential and Behavioral Services.
  • Effectively engage with parents and caregivers to provide progress updates and collaborate on support strategies.
  • Adhere to the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code outlined by the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (BACB).
  • Ensure availability to work during designated hours, specifically between 3 PM and 7 PM, to accommodate participant's needs.
  • Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.
  • Adhere to Opportunity Village's established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing training to ensure compliance with the renewal of RBT certification with BACB.
  • Openly communicate with supervisor regarding caseload, productivity, issues, and concerns.
  • Some travel to a variety of locations in the Las Vegas area.
