About The Position

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct behavioral and instructional support to students under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or other qualified professional. The RBT assists in implementing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill-acquisition programs that help students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally within the school setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in educational settings with students who have developmental, behavioral, or emotional needs.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, applied behavior analysis, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans and instructional programs as designed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Collect, record, and summarize behavioral and skill data accurately and consistently.
  • Support students in developing communication, social, self-management, and adaptive skills across school environments (classroom, cafeteria, playground, etc.).
  • Use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to encourage positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and support staff to promote consistency and success in student programs.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and supervision sessions as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and follow district, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Adhere to the ethical and professional standards outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
