About The Position

The Regional Vice President - Multifamily provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial accountability for a defined multifamily portfolio. This role ensures properties operate at peak performance by driving revenue growth, expense control, asset preservation, team development, and exceptional resident experience outcomes. The Regional Vice President partners closely with ownership groups, executive leadership, and cross-functional corporate teams to maximize asset value while maintaining alignment with Hawthorne’s mission, performance standards, and “Live It” culture. This role blends executive strategy with hands-on portfolio leadership to deliver measurable financial results and long-term asset performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent multifamily leadership experience
  • Minimum three years of experience as a Regional Manager or equivalent multi-site leadership role
  • Experience with acquisitions, underwriting review, lease-ups, due diligence, and dispositions
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze budgets, forecasts, and operational reports
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel and Outlook
  • Yardi Voyager experience
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and strategic decision-making skills
  • Professional appearance and executive presence
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to fulfill all job functions.
  • Must have proof of liability insurance for the same.
  • Bondable and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive business plans, marketing strategies, and annual operating budgets across the assigned portfolio
  • Drive portfolio cash flow through effective revenue management, collections strategy, expense control, and staffing optimization
  • Oversee pricing and renewal strategies to maximize net effective rent growth and collected revenue
  • Review financial performance regularly to ensure alignment with budget and forecast expectations
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews with Regional Managers and communicate performance insights to executive leadership
  • Monitor market conditions and proactively adjust strategy to maintain competitive positioning
  • Support acquisitions, dispositions, due diligence, and new development transitions
  • Lead, coach, and mentor Regional Managers to strengthen performance, accountability, and professional growth
  • Build succession pipelines and identify future leadership candidates within the portfolio
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational standards across all properties
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Accounting, IT, Operations Support, and Property Improvements teams
  • Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, accountability, and high performance
  • Professionally represent the company in all client interactions and owner meetings
  • Ensure compliance with management agreements and lender or government requirements
  • Communicate owner directives, performance updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Respond proactively to owner needs while protecting asset performance and company standards
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing third-party management opportunities
  • Oversee capital projects in partnership with the Property Improvements team to ensure timely, on-budget execution
  • Monitor physical asset integrity and long-term capital planning
  • Manage risk mitigation initiatives across the portfolio
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and all regulatory requirements
  • Professionally manage properties through sale or management transitions
