About The Position

As Regional Trade Marketing Manager – NAM (US & Canada), you will lead the sales strategy, category thinking, and shopper marketing agenda across the North America market. Working closely with the President – NAM, Global Sales Excellence, Head of Sales, Head Market Development & Strategy, and Marketing, this role ensures category and shopper insights are translated into profitable, shopper-led activities that deliver growth with retail customers and distributors. You’ll lead and develop a Trade Marketing team, shape long-term strategy, and drive excellence across sales planning, customer funds investment, shopper marketing execution, and in-store excellence. This is a senior, highly influential role at the intersection of strategy, execution, and leadership. Zespri’s NAM headquarters are based in Newport Beach, California; however, we are open to the right candidate working remotely from anywhere along the Northeast (Eastern US).

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in FMCG trade marketing, sales operations, or category management
  • Proven experience developing sales strategy, shopper marketing programs, and category growth plans
  • Strong financial and analytical capability, including budget ownership and ROI optimization
  • Experience leading and developing teams in complex, cross-functional environments
  • Confidence influencing senior stakeholders, customers, and distributor partners
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Tertiary qualification in economics, management, finance, or related discipline (MBA preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Leading market sales strategy, including where-to-play choices across geography, channels, and customers
  • Developing and embedding category vision, growth drivers, and shopper insights across the NAM market
  • Setting direction for shopper marketing campaigns, merchandising guidelines, and in-store execution
  • Owning the customer funds strategy, ensuring investment drives shopper impact, partner behaviour, and strong ROI
  • Leading internal business planning, including fruit allocation principles, pack and price architecture, and sales & marketing calendars
  • Guiding the development of compelling selling materials and POS visibility toolkits
  • Supporting key account and distributor planning, including joint business plans and quarterly business reviews
  • Driving operational and executional excellence, including demand forecasting, perfect store targets, and performance tracking
  • Building, leading, and developing a high-performing Trade Marketing team, fostering a strong performance and values-led culture
