Position Summary: The position will oversee, direct, and coordinate operational activities and programs associated with the day-to-day operations of regional PT services through the delivery of cost effective and quality services. Expected to exercise management responsibility over the region ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Regional PT Management Assumes ultimate responsibility for PT service operations within region.
  • Responsible for service and operational excellence of all regional clinics to ensure the delivery of quality services.
  • Monitors regional clinic productivity and takes action to ensure all clinics meet or exceed established productivity benchmarks.
  • Mentors and trains regional clinic managers to assure consistency of quality PT services across the region.
  • Plans, organizes and directs operational activities of regional PT services; implements region-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Identifies program development needs of individual clinics and assists staff in implementation.
  • Responsible for integrating the strategic plan of the organization with the business operations.
  • Develops and fosters effective collaboration between statewide and regional clinics, clinical staff leadership and other affiliated services (inside and outside of the region) to ensure an integrated approach to providing services and fulfilling OVA’s goals and objectives.
  • Helps develop and implement strategic plans to accurately forecast revenues, expenses and capital requirement for regional PT.
  • Develops and manages annual budgets for the areas of responsibility and performs periodic cost and productivity analysis.
  • Develops new business strategies to enhance market share and improve overall performance of the areas of responsibility.
  • Partners to market the service lines to physicians and community to achieve projected volumes and market growth.
  • Works through the management team and clinical staff leadership, serving to help reduce cost, enhance revenues, increase patient satisfaction, achieve effective utilization and quality goals and objectives, analyze and utilize information to develop and support management decisions.
  • Develops and maintains staffing plans based upon volumes, patient acuity, anticipated workload, skill-mix and competency requirements.
  • Provides leadership support to regional clinic managers in the form of resources, tools, education and training.
  • Help ensure each regional PT clinic provides exemplary patient care and is profitable.
  • Reviews financial reports and provides information that can be used to determine the cost effectiveness of staffing and equipment for the caseload.
  • Oversees appropriate implementation of policies and procedures and ensures confidentiality of patient information and security of patient records.
  • Periodically participates in audit of patient charges and documentation for compliance with federal and state laws and clinical policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and promotes effective relationships with physicians, APCs and other healthcare providers who utilize or have an interest in utilizing the services of the regional clinics.
  • Ensures mechanisms are in place to evaluate and improve the satisfaction of patients, physicians and employees and ensures timely review and corrective action pertaining to grievances.
  • Communicates changes in regulations and policies to regional PT staff members in a timely manner.
  • Uses effective communication methods.

  • Identifies and works proactively to solve problems.
  • Staff Supervision Works with clinic managers and regional operations manager to ensure staffing for each regional clinic is adequate to meet patient needs.
  • Oversee the hiring process for clinic managers and regional operations manager assuring candidate selected possesses appropriate qualifications and is a good fit with the clinic team.
  • Participates in training of clinic managers and therapy staff to acclimate new personnel and improve performance for future growth.
  • Delegates and/or assigns responsibility and authority clearly and effectively.
  • Provides clear direction and guidance and sets priorities.
  • Motivates staff, provides praise and constructive feedback and counsels poor performance.
  • Mentors and develops staff for success and retention.
  • Elicits high levels of productivity.
  • Delivers effective performance evaluations in a timely manner considering value of work performed, thoroughness, accuracy, neatness and conformance to standards.
  • Outlines goals and performance expectations clearly.
