About The Position

Directly supervises HSPRS Supervisors and develops policies/procedures for the program. Collaborate with Program Director to monitor and manage caseloads. Responsibilities also include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, performing clinical assessments, and facilitating crisis management.

Requirements

  • Master’s in behavioral sciences, human services, social services or bachelor’s with at least 5 years of progressive (including supervisory) experience in case management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise activities related to Home Studies (HS) and Post Release Services (PRS) of UAC’s with their appropriate sponsors consistent with VDM procedures and U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) regulations and policies.
  • Provide an array of comprehensive supervisory services with the goal of effectively addressing the family's barriers and perspective strengthening their preventive skills utilizing strength based and solution focused strategies to enhance permanency outcomes.
  • Oversee the assignment of referrals, training new staff, and supervising the work of Post Release Services and Home Study Case Worker Supervisor.
  • Provide supplemental support to HS and PRS programs in times of influx by conducting home studies and providing post release services to UAC, including assistance with accessing education, medical care, mental health services, legal assistance, and other essential resources.
  • Oversee maintenance within the program of accurate and up-to-date case records, progress notes, and reports, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain expertise of VDM and ORR policies and regulations governing the program to ensure program efficiency.
  • Stay informed about changes in immigration policies, laws, and regulations, and participate in relevant training and professional development activities.
  • Provide leadership for the HS/PRS program by promoting the safety and well-being of unaccompanied children.
  • Collaborate with community social services providers and community resources to enhance the support network available to unaccompanied children and their sponsors with specialized experience working with immigrant populations.
