About The Position

The U.S. Security Manager is responsible for supporting MSC Cruises vessels operating in the United States, representing MSC Cruises in all security-related matters within the region. Key responsibilities include: • Investigating onboard incidents and crimes • Coordinates with local, state and federal authorities on matters relating to fraudulent or other illegal activities. • Building and maintaining preofessional realtionships with law enforcement, government agencies and port security providers • Supporting safeguarding efforts for U.S.-based vessels • Delivering security training as required • Visiting MSC Cruises vessels at U.S. and Caribbean ports as required • Representing MSC Cruises at external meetings focused on security (e.g., CLIA, government agencies) • Managing the sex offender screening program • Support the ships with operational management as required • This is an office-based position located at MSCCTD USA in Miami.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Detective or equivalent in a law enforcement agency (Essential)
  • Extensive recent experience in compiling criminal and civil reports (Essential)
  • Ability to lead and supervise investigations of security incidents across the U.S. fleet (Essential)
  • Confidence in delivering remote training via Microsoft Teams (Essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Essential)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Essential)
  • Diplomatic approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to live and work in the US without restrictions
  • Must be able to travel internationally without restrictions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Chief Security Officer onboard cruise vessels, or experience in working within the Port Police Authority (Desirable)
  • Shore-based security management experience within the cruise industry (Desirable)
  • Strong understanding of ISPS, CVSSA, and cruise industry security policies and procedures (Highly Desirable)
  • Recognized experience in delivering training (Desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Manage shipboard security incidents and investigations, ensuring compliance within the company policy
  • Ensure timely documentation and reporting of shipboard crimes to law enforcement
  • Ensure all incidents are reported in accordance with company, flag state, and jurisdictional requirements
  • Support the implementation of the company’s safeguarding policy by coordinating with Shipboard Safeguarding Officer
  • Provide guidance on jurisdictional issues and best practices affecting security incidents across the fleet
  • Analyse incident statistics, identify trends, and propose mitigation strategies
  • Contribute expertise to the development and revision of Security Standard Procedures related to brand protection in the U.S.
  • Maintain active liaison with national and international law enforcement agencies
  • Collaborate with the Legal Department and appointed legal counsel on security case management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for reportable security incidents and safeguarding concerns
