About The Position

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Master Scheduler to be based in Indianapolis, IN. This role serves as the central scheduling authority for four manufacturing plants operating 23 blow molding machines across the Plastic Division. The Master Scheduler will be responsible for developing and executing an integrated production plan that maximizes machine utilization, supports On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) service levels, aligns with mold and tooling constraints, and optimizes finished goods inventory. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, CSR and Corporate Logistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years of production scheduling experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in blow molding, injection molding, plastics, or asset-intensive operations preferred.
  • Strong ERP/MRP experience (SAP preferred).
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-plant production complexity.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS / CPIM certification.
  • Experience in mold-specific and seasonal production environments.
  • Knowledge of freight optimization within multi-plant networks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage weekly, monthly, and rolling production schedules across three plants.
  • Optimize utilization of 23 blow molding machines considering tonnage, cycle times, and cavitation.
  • Balance production loads between plants to reduce overtime and freight exposure.
  • Sequence jobs to minimize mold changeovers, color transitions, and downtime.
  • Provide clear visibility into capacity constraints and bottlenecks.
  • Incorporate mold availability, refurbishment schedules, and redundancy limitations into the production plan.
  • Coordinate mold transfers between plants as required.
  • Partner with Engineering on mold performance, preventive maintenance, and downtime mitigation.
  • Align schedules with resin supply, PCR usage, regrind flow, and component availability.
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives including SLOB reduction.
  • Maintain appropriate finished goods levels to support seasonal demand fluctuations.
  • Ensure production plans support customer-requested ship dates.
  • Prioritize strategic and high-volume accounts while maintaining schedule stability.
  • Manage short-lead-time and drop-in orders without disrupting core production plans.
  • Proactively communicate service risks and recovery plans.
  • Lead weekly capacity and scheduling review meetings.
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers, Operations Leaders, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Logistics.
  • Drive standardization of scheduling practices across facilities.
  • Improve schedule adherence and reduce volatility.
  • Track and report KPIs including machine utilization, OTIF, changeover hours, and inventory turns.
  • Identify process improvements that enhance throughput and cost efficiency.
