This role requires strong sales acumen and exceptional customer service skills. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving growth in the assigned territory through new customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts. This includes developing a clear commercial strategy, increasing equipment and service contract sales, and building long-term relationships with key decision makers such as VPs of Engineering, Plant Managers, and Maintenance leaders. Ideal candidates bring— or can develop— a solid understanding of the protein processing industry, its markets, and customer supply chains. The Regional Sales Manager communicates the technical and commercial value of POSS equipment with clarity and credibility.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience
  • Proven experience selling capital equipment, including parts and service agreements
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles (1+ year)
  • Demonstrated success in customer satisfaction and revenue growth
  • Ability to provide references or recommendations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely (self-starter)
  • Strong motivation for business growth and sales achievement
  • Ability to service and inspect new and existing equipment
  • Regular travel by car and airplane
  • Ability to travel extensively and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Occasional medium lifting as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or network in the protein processing industry strongly preferred
  • Degree in food science, agriculture, or related field is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular visits to customer and prospect headquarters and production facilities
  • Develop and execute a measurable regional sales plan
  • Provide a rolling sales forecast
  • Build strong consultative relationships at all organizational levels
  • Utilize CRM tools to document customer information, activities, opportunities, and next steps
  • Coordinate with Technical Support on customer requirements
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and competitive products
  • Establish and maintain regular contact with new and existing customers
  • Prepare quotations and manage them through closure
  • Organize equipment demonstrations and host customer visits
  • Participate in tradeshows and marketing initiatives
  • Demonstrate the ability to close contracts and secure new business
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for customer support and service
