About The Position

Merit Brass is seeking a high-impact Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to lead profitable growth across the Northeast, including Upstate New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. This is a true field-leadership role for a sales professional who thrives on building relationships, winning in competitive markets, and growing the territory through strategy, execution, and influence. You will serve as the face of Merit Brass in the region, working closely with wholesale distribution partners, contractors, engineers, and key market decision-makers to expand share and deepen long-term partnerships. You will represent Merit Brass’s full portfolio—including fittings, nipples, pipe, valves, and press systems—while playing a key role in new product launches, specification development, and regional growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience in PVF, plumbing, or industrial distribution markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and grow a multi-state territory.
  • Strong executive-level communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with wholesale distributors and/or manufacturer representatives.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Highly self-directed, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Must reside in the territory and be willing to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute a regional growth strategy aligned with Merit Brass’s national commercial objectives.
  • Build, strengthen, and expand relationships with wholesale distributors to maintain and grow preferred-vendor status.
  • Identify and develop new revenue opportunities within existing accounts and through contractor and engineering influence.
  • Champion the full Merit Brass product portfolio, from core legacy lines to new product introductions.
  • Partner closely with Product Line Management, Customer Experience, and Strategic Accounts teams to align on pricing, service, and inventory strategy.
  • Maintain a disciplined pipeline and capture all customer activity and market intelligence in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Represent Merit Brass at joint sales calls, industry events, and trade shows to strengthen brand presence.
  • Deliver product training and technical education to distributor sales teams, contractors, and engineers.
  • Provide regular insight on competitive activity, pricing trends, and market conditions to inform leadership decisions.
  • Consistently report on performance, growth initiatives, and territory development.
