When you join WM you become part of a company that is: - 100% employee-owned with 40+ years of industry history - ENR (Engineering News Record) Top 500 firm - Rated as a top System Integrator Giant Responsibilities Primary focus is sales and business development for commercial and industrial clients of electrical and mechanical control systems and services for steam, combustion, and hydro turbines in the Western U.S. Provide new contacts for business, initiate opportunity development, assist with proposal development in response to RFPs (requests for proposals) with operations and engineering teams, and collaborate with manufacturing suppliers and distributors in the region. Maintains existing client accounts and establishes new accounts and industry contacts in the territory, leading to increased sales and long-term repeat business. Serve as Sales Manager for the Western U.S. territory, currently including ND, SD, NE, WY, MT, ID, UT, NV, CA, OR, WA, HI, AK, and western Canadian provinces; territory scope may be adjusted based on the selected candidate’s location Maintain a travel schedule of approximately 40–60%, with flexibility for increased travel to support business development and customer engagement objectives Role may be based remotely within the assigned territory; however, significant in-office presence in Loveland, CO is expected during the onboarding period to support training and integration with the team Provides broad support of industry; Commercial and Municipal Power, Pulp & Paper, Oil & Gas, Spec Chem preferred. Develops leads for market penetration into new industries, sectors, or scopes Obtains leads from sources including professional network, industry conferences, channel relationships, market research and reports, vendors, and other company personnel Manages and reports on the territory’s sales pipeline using Wunderlich-Malec (WM) customer relationship management tools (Salesforce), scheduling team tasks/activities, follow up Leverages technical knowledge of products and systems from leading controls vendors in supporting client project understanding and positioning the business unit (BU), and as applicable, the larger WM team Maintains a network of industry supplier relations, for example Woodward, Rockwell, GE, Siemens, Emerson, Schneider, etc. Solo, or as part of a larger sales team, represents the BU and WM at industry trade shows and conferences, including technical presentations on BU services and capabilities Assists the BU with broader marketing efforts, providing input to marketing materials and online marketing content Assists development of and presents proposals to clients on BU engineering services and integrated systems Monitors regional industry trends to assist with BU sales plans and forecasts Acts as liaison between customers, BU project management, and BU engineering, ensuring the voice of the customer is heard Responsible for reviewing commercial terms with BU and WM management, coordinating available resources within our operations Finalizes review of customer orders and coordinates contracts with the operations team to ensure a clear understanding of scope, schedule, and budget Provides timely response to internal reporting needs for company leadership (quarterly sales report, territory updates and reports, sales meeting notes, expenses, timesheets, etc.).
