Regional Sales Manager Job Summary Represent the company's products and services to existing and potential customers through in-person meetings, presentations, industry events, and other appropriate methods. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for meeting sales targets, driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, introducing new products, nurturing a strong pipeline of opportunities, and reporting progress to the organization. Additional responsibilities include conducting market analysis, identifying new sales opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve sales targets. Travel is expected approximately 50% of the time. The assigned territory is Midwest, but is subject to additional clarification upon hire.

Requirements

  • Strong consultative selling ability and experience in business development.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical information, i.e. blueprints, specifications.
  • Proficiency in communicating technical details with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and concepts.
  • Analytical skills to explore sales and marketing data and apply findings to sales strategies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and present business plans and sales strategies to senior management.
  • New business opportunity identification and development, strategic selling, and nurturing prospects through sales funnel.
  • Negotiation and contract review.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Exhibit leadership within sales team and over cross-functional teams.
  • Personal integrity, professionalism and goal oriented.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.
  • Proven track record of business development success in manufacturing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement and Sales Maximization: Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s business objectives and challenges. Leverage this knowledge to offer tailored solutions from our product portfolio, driving sales and fostering long-term relationships.
  • New Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's customer base. This includes researching potential markets, initiating contact with prospective clients, and developing custom sales strategies to convert leads into long-term customers.
  • Pricing: Evaluate market trends, competitor pricing, and demand to determine best price strategies. Set prices that achieve desired margins, develop customer specific price proposals for key accounts, regularly review and adjust pricing based on current market conditions. Follow internal approval process for pricing decisions.
  • Customer Feedback and Communication: Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring customer needs and feedback are communicated effectively to optimize product offerings and service delivery.
  • Market and Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze market trends and competitive activities. Share insights with the team through regular reporting.
  • Product Development and Marketing Input: Provide actionable ideas and feedback for new product development and marketing strategies. Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to enhance promotional activities and product positioning.
  • Trade Show Participation: Represent the company at industry trade shows and events, showcasing our products and expanding our market presence.
  • Sales Records and Performance Monitoring: Maintain accurate sales records for all customers. Regularly review performance data and develop plans to improve sales outcomes.
  • Sales Planning and Reporting: Regularly communicate sales activities and travel plans with management. Monitor progress against goals and adapt strategies as required.
  • Expense Management: Strict management of sales and travel expenses.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Assist various departments and divisions within the company, including customer service, production, engineering, accounts receivable, and management.
  • Other: Perform other related duties as assigned.
