About The Position

Orbia is seeking a Regional Safety Manager for its Flour & Energy Materials business group. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive health, safety, and industrial hygiene programs to protect employees, contractors, and assets across the site. The manager will ensure compliance with internal standards, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements, lead incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement efforts. The position serves as the site-wide subject matter expert for safety, industrial hygiene, and risk management, and also supports safety and industrial hygiene programs at additional Orbia technology centers and manufacturing locations, collaborating with safety professionals across North America. The role requires full ownership of developing, implementing, and sustaining site-wide health and safety programs, interpreting detailed OSHA standards, balancing regulatory compliance with operational realities, and managing programs across four distinct operating groups.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university
  • English language proficiency
  • 5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience
  • Background in operating environments, including warehousing, distribution, & logistics
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Knowledge of safety and health management systems and safe work practices
  • Strong ability to identify hazards and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation and return-to-work programs
  • Industrial Hygiene Standards

Responsibilities

  • Provide regional coaching and leadership to operations across Louisiana, Texas, and Wisconsin, reinforcing strong safety accountability and performance.
  • Partner with the Director of US Operations and Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager to establish, communicate, and sustain consistent HSE expectations and standards.
  • Lead the implementation of Orbia safety standards, guidance, and best practices, ensuring consistent application across all assigned sites.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain regional and site-specific safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and behavioral safety programs.
  • Drive risk identification, assessment, and reduction, including creation and tracking of site risk-based improvement plans.
  • Conduct facility safety inspections, fleet audits, and HSE audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified, implemented, and verified.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, Louisiana, and other applicable federal, state, and local HSE regulations, and communicate regulatory changes to leadership.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for safety, industrial hygiene, and safe work practices, supporting site leadership and employees.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action tracking, including OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Analyze HSE performance metrics, trends, and leading indicators to develop and execute strategic safety improvement plans.
  • Develop and coordinate HSE training programs, including hazard communication, material handling, ergonomics, powered industrial trucks, defensive driving, hot work, confined space, and fleet safety.
  • Coordinate and administer industrial hygiene programs, including air monitoring, noise exposure assessments, hearing conservation, and chemical health risk evaluations.
  • Support and enhance emergency preparedness, emergency response, and business continuity planning, including drills and readiness assessments.
  • Facilitate regional safety committees, promote employee engagement, manage external regulatory and consultant relationships, and support the regional HSE budget.
