The Regional Pathology Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Division Medical Director and Regional Managing Director to ensure smooth and efficient operations of pathologist services. This role focuses on coordinating staffing and scheduling, optimizing case allocation, and facilitating communication across the region. The Coordinator will also oversee the implementation of standardized procedures, track key performance indicators, and ensure Staffing & Scheduling Assist with maintaining accurate pathologist schedules across the region. Coordinate staffing needs to ensure adequate coverage and workload balance. Support vacation, leave, and on-call coverage planning. Case Management Manage case allocation workflows to ensure equitable and efficient distribution. Monitor case volumes and adjust assignments as needed. Communication & Process Alignment Serve as a primary point of communication for pathologists regarding software updates, workflow changes, and regional initiatives. Support adoption of standardized division protocols and procedures. Facilitate clear and consistent messaging from leadership to pathologists. Performance & Reporting Collect, analyze, and synthesize pathologist key performance indicator (KPI) reports. Provide summaries and actionable insights to the Division Medical Director and Regional Managing Director. Licensing & Credentialing Track pathologist eligibility criteria for software database, including licensing, credentialing, and compliance requirements. Partner with credentialing and compliance teams to ensure records are current. May perform other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesize data into clear reports and insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with pathologists and leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workplace or related software program
  • Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems.
  • Ability to act as a team player.
  • Displays diplomacy and tactfulness in all communications.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in healthcare operations, pathology, or physician services coordination necessary.
  • OR any acceptable combination of education, certification(s), and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with medical licensing, credentialing, or compliance processes is a plus.
