About The Position

The Regional Operations Preceptor plays a vital role in the success and preparedness of home health branches across a defined region. As a subject matter expert and operational mentor, this role blends education, leadership development, clinical oversight, and operational support to promote compliance, quality outcomes, and team effectiveness. Working closely with branch leadership and support staff, the Regional Operations Preceptor helps ensure smooth onboarding, remediation, and readiness across the organization—especially during times of growth, transition, or regulatory review.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice (required)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in home health, with at least 2 years in a leadership, educator, or supervisory role (required)
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation, PDPM, and Joint Commission standards (required)
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and virtual learning tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging, role-specific training programs to clinical and support team members.
  • Educate staff on policies, procedures, best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate both virtual and in-person training sessions across multiple branches.
  • Lead onboarding for new Clinical Managers, Directors, and other team members.
  • Ensure new hires are fully integrated and equipped with tools and competencies to succeed.
  • Serve as a trusted mentor to clinical and non-clinical team members.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, support, and development for both new and tenured staff.
  • Deliver additional clinical supervision when needed for remediation or performance improvement.
  • Conduct branch operational assessments and offer real-time coaching and feedback.
  • Support transitions during acquisitions by aligning training and implementing standard processes.
  • Assist branches with Joint Commission and regulatory survey readiness through mock audits and documentation review.
  • Reinforce adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards, including Medicare CoPs.
  • Promote ongoing learning and professional growth across teams.
  • Collaborate with regional leaders and other preceptors to ensure consistent training and best practice sharing.
  • Stay current with industry regulations and best practices and disseminate that knowledge to field teams.
