The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the operational performance, reliability, and efficiency of multiple data center facilities within an assigned region (travel required up to 50–60%). This role provides direct leadership to Critical Facilities teams to ensure maximum uptime, regulatory compliance, safety, and client satisfaction. The Regional Manager drives consistency in operational standards, budget performance, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives across all assigned sites. This leadership role requires strong technical expertise in mission-critical infrastructure, financial acumen, and the ability to lead high-performing teams in dynamic environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience), plus 10–15 years in data center/critical facilities management with 5+ years in multi-site leadership.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mission-critical systems including electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, mechanical/HVAC systems, fire suppression, and BMS platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and capital expenditures.
  • Proven leadership ability with strong communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and data-driven performance metrics.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations of multiple data center facilities, ensuring reliability of critical infrastructure and implementation of optimization strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Critical Facilities Managers and Critical Facilities teams, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing environment.
  • Develop and manage regional operating budgets; monitor financial performance and identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Oversee CMMS platform structure, preventive maintenance standards, warranty and asset tracking to ensure maintenance and life cycle planning remain consistent at all sites.
  • Monitor vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure performance standards and compliance requirements are met.
  • Serve as primary escalation point for operational issues to ensure appropriate incident response and lead root cause analysis for significant incidents.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships; monitor adherence to all service level agreements (SLAs) which could include environmental conditions, EHS requirements and reporting among others.
  • Develop and ensure site compliance with a best-in-class policies and procedures program.
  • Oversee a robust training program to ensure our teams develop and maintain the skills required to support the high demands of our clients and the cutting-edge equipment and systems that support their business. This should include emergency preparedness and tabletop drills.
  • Ensure regulatory and safety compliance, maintain required documentation, oversee audits, and enforce environmental and security standards to include NFPA 70E/B and OSHA.
  • Support long-term regional growth strategies, capital planning initiatives, and infrastructure expansion projects.
  • Ensure all sites are meeting internal and customer expectations through self-audits and monitoring KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, resiliency, and operational consistency across sites.
