About The Position

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as a Regional Office Receptionist. Under direction, this position will perform complex clerical services for professional staff in the assigned office, answer phones, and greet visitors. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department’s operations. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school
  • Requires 2 years of office experience
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm
  • Requires ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a Regional Office Receptionist
  • Answers all incoming calls and screens callers to determine nature of request, many of which may be hostile
  • Greets visitors and directs walk-ins to appropriate offices and resources
  • Orders and distributes forms from Central Stores
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
