As a Regional Nurse Supervisor , you are responsible for the leadership and supervision of all outpatient nursing staff in the designated region. The Regional Nursing Supervisor ensures nursing functions are delivered in accordance with best practices and Pinnacle Treatment Centers policies and procedures. The Regional Nursing Supervisor works collaboratively with the leadership team to ensure quality care is provided to patients daily.

Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Virginia
  • Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the Board of Nursing.
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation), first aid and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Two (2) years of APRN experience in the substance/mental health field
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing
  • Ability to travel up to 75% to provide facility support and may include overnight travel as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Four (4) years' experience in the field of drug abuse
  • Four (4) year's leadership/supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the nursing teams, including medication services, admissions, documentation, inventory, and lab services.
  • Plans and organizes Supervision and team meetings with Nurse Manager and/or lead nurse at least monthly or more often if warranted by patient health needs
  • Provides coverage when needed to fill gaps to ensure all shifts are covered within the region's facilities
  • Identify expected clinical outcomes goals and develop tools for measuring the results of these outcomes.
  • Implement and maintain a communication process to ensure all teammates are informed and current on important information at all times.
  • Provide oversight of inventory, ordering, receiving, and accountability of medication/inventory control in conjunction with the other pharmacy teammates as required by the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) and state regulatory bodies
  • Ensure the Diversion Control Plan is in place and is enforced at all times within the facilities
  • Work closely with pharmacists, as appropriate and Executive Directors to ensure proper inventory counts, storage of medication, and meeting regulatory requirements
  • Consult in the development of the policies and procedures for medication administration or assistance with self-administration of medication or both
  • Provide for and participate in training for nursing staff including new hires, in medical and health/safety matters as well as properly maintaining medical equipment
  • Administer/dispense medication under the direction of the physician
  • Ensure the treatment plan of the physician or Medical Director is adhered to within the facility
  • Administer and interpret Mantoux testing
  • Schedule appointments for patients to see the physician, provide lab work and referrals for additional follow up care
  • Assess patient response to treatment and medication dosage/interactions and determine appropriateness for dosing
  • Participate in case conferences, offering professional observations
  • Orders medical supplies, maintain a proper inventory and record of use as per regulations
  • Maintain all medical records including but not limited to individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, Doctor's orders, etc., as required
  • Educate staff, community, and patients about methadone/buprenorphine and their side effects
  • Counsel patients re: personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and all medical matters including changes in treatment
  • Discuss with physician and staff significant changes in treatment or noted patterns of behavior affecting treatment
  • Provide referrals for specialized care at local health centers (e.g., Planned Parenthood, prenatal clinic, HIV/AIDS testing sites, etc.) and follows-up on patients' attendance and treatment
  • Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.
  • Other duties as assigned
