About The Position

The Regional Nurse Manager, under the direction of the Chief Clinical Nurse Officer, is responsible for helping develop, implement, oversee, and enforce nursing policies, protocols, and compliance standards. The Regional Nurse Manager provides oversight for the training of nurses and medical assistants in the organization, ensuring staff receives standardized training. The Regional Nurse Manager is assigned specific locations for which they are primarily responsible.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, nursing process, and nursing care standards.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead and motivate other professionals.
  • Articulates verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with divergent and diverse groups.
  • A high standard of professionalism, professional ethics, and distinctive conduct is expected in speech, manner, attitude, and appearance at all times.
  • Ability to perform tasks related to physical activity to complete the responsibilities of the position.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Current unincumbered California RN License required
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in a healthcare related field of study preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Upholds and supports the philosophy, objectives, policies, protocols, and procedures of Community Health Systems, Inc. (CHSI).
  • Performs duties of the Clinic Registered Nurse as necessary
  • Conducts, guides, and interprets monthly clinical back-office audits outcomes and compliance elements.
  • Participates in the completion and presentation of nursing performance evaluations.
  • Promotes and participates in interdepartmental teamwork and collaboration.
  • Provides clinical oversight to nurses and medical assistants for their clinical skills and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Conducts chart reviews for compliance and reports findings to CCNO and SNM.
  • Works collaboratively with nursing leadership team on quality improvement projects.
  • Maintains open communication with site management regarding clinical operations as it relates to Nursing.
  • Contributes to clinical efficiency and quality patient care by identifying short-term and long-term goals that must be addressed with site management.
  • Maintains professional technical knowledge (i.e. attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, etc..) and maintains oversight of all regulatory areas of concern.
  • Assists with New Employee Orientation (NEO) to train new clinic staff on topics such as: HIPAA, OSHA regulation, blood borne pathogens, N95 fit testing, compliance-based regulations, CHSI policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Mentors, coaches and acts as a preceptor to Nurse Team related to key performance indicators.
  • Documents all coaching and retraining provided to staff.
  • Participates in the creation and implementation of corrective action plans for staff.
  • Contributes to a work environment where continuous quality improvements in service and professional practices are pursued.
  • Identifies challenges/opportunities and communicates across the care team continuum to guide team members to a solution.
  • Performs all other responsibilities as directed either formally or informally, verbally or in writing.
  • Provides stability, standardization, guidance, and leadership to each clinical Nurse Team member.
