About The Position

TK Health is seeking an experienced Regional Medical Director (MD or DO) to provide clinical leadership and oversight across correctional healthcare operations in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Colorado. This role is primarily remote and focuses on clinical oversight, provider support, and high-level medical decision-making, with limited on-site requirements. This position is ideal for a physician who values flexibility while maintaining a meaningful leadership role in correctional healthcare. Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in Oklahoma (required)
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check

Nice To Haves

  • Active licensure in Kansas and Colorado strongly preferred
  • Additional state licenses are advantageous.
  • All candidates must demonstrate the capability and willingness to obtain licensure in other states as necessitated by the organization's growth.
  • Correctional healthcare experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and clinical oversight across multiple states
  • Deliver direct patient care as needed, primarily through remote means
  • Supervise and support mid-level providers (NPs)
  • Review and approve high-cost medications and complex treatment plans
  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with regional leadership, facility staff, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • On-call coverage once every four (4) weeks, limited to Oklahoma facilities
