Position Overview Regional EHS Managers are the frontline leaders responsible for executing Group 1 Automotive’s Environment, Health & Safety programs across their assigned region’s dealerships and collision centers. They serve as trusted safety partners to regional and field leadership, deliver hands-on support, training, and program implementation to drive a positive, proactive safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience in safety or operations will be considered
  • 5+ years of safety, risk, or operations leadership in a multi-site environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and vehicle service-related hazards
  • Knowledge of EHS management software and tools
  • Comfortable working in auto dealerships, service bays, and shop-floor environments
  • Ability to clearly explain safety procedures, lead and motivate employees
  • Strong knowledge managing Worker’s comp injuries
  • Confident and effective at delivering presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills; ability to influence without authority
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel regionally 50–70% of the time
  • All applicants must pass pre-employment testing to include: background checks, MVR, and drug testing in order to qualify for employment

Responsibilities

  • Program Implementation – Roll out corporate EHS programs and ensure dealership compliance with safety standards
  • Field Leadership Support – Act as the go-to EHS resource for Market Directors, General Managers, Service Directors, and Fixed Ops leaders
  • Training & Coaching – Deliver safety training and toolbox talks; coach on-site leaders on leading safe behaviors
  • Audits & Inspections – Conduct site audits and job hazard assessments; ensure timely closure of action items
  • Incident Response – Support incident investigations and root cause analysis; track corrective actions
  • Data & Reporting – Submit TRIR, LTIR, and vehicle incident data; support data quality and dashboard inputs
  • Contractor Oversight – Ensure vendor safety compliance during facility work, construction, or maintenance
  • Culture Building – Promote safety campaigns and recognition; share best practices across regions. Ability to understand and connect with people, build trust, and mediate disputes to foster a collaborative environment
  • Team Management – Manage EHS Administrators daily activities and performance
  • Other duties, as assigned
