About The Position

This position is responsible to provide leadership for the launch management function in the US/Canada and Mexico region. This role requires strong organizational leadership and will be required to collaborate and drive launch execution and escalation in key functional areas. This role will be responsible for ensuring that integration and improvement of D3 methodology in the US/Canada and Mexico Region is driven and sustained across cross-functional swim lanes and responsible to drive flawless launch execution throughout the program portfolio. This role plays an important role in ensuring organizational accountability, resource planning, and ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction and business growth. Must have the ability to develop team members to strengthen the launch management function and create process discipline to ensure long-term sustainability. This individual will utilize tools, processes, resources, and methodologies to successfully manage and launch product and expansion programs. Develops and identifies program/project best practices, lessons learned, tools, and program management techniques, and recommends policy revisions to ensure alignment with global strategy and goals. Collaborate with members of the regional cross-functional teams, driving accountability, ownership, and positive behaviors in alignment with corporate values. How you will do it: Program launch leadership across the enterprise: Establishes, communicates, and drives team and stakeholders to achieve business goals (IRR, ROA, payback, safety, cost, timing, quality, delivery, and launch performance). Customer satisfaction: Jointly manage customer relationships and customer satisfaction, in conjunction with functional / Customer groups, excellence in Quality, Productivity, Service, Delivery, and Cost. Demonstrates positive/effective relationship with key customer stakeholders, including Purchasing, Marketing, Design, Engineering, Quality, and Operations. Product Design – Validation – Manufacturing and Operations Leadership: Aligns key functional areas in the battery development and launch process to ensure robust product design validation, Readiness and DFAM/MSO with the manufacturing team and plant(s) to ensure product and process capability. Drives a strong pre-production and production build events process. People: Create and enhance an enthusiastic and creative work environment that motivates and develops employees to fully utilize and grow their skills and talents, and be proud and excited to be a part of Clarios. Builds team through servant leadership by promoting collaboration and cooperation across functional and product groups to achieve business objectives. Develops a robust succession plan for the team and participates in the business succession planning process to build a bench of talent. Process Execution / Systems: Promote the development and compliance with standardized processes to assure continuously improving business growth, launch execution, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. Is the team’s subject matter expert on Clarios systems and leads the leadership gate and escalation process that removes roadblocks as necessary. Leadership: Key part of the Regional Leadership team, actively partnering with the Commercial Business Units, Engineering/Program Management teams, regional Operations, and Quality teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or Business.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience leading and managing a business or operations team, in engineering, operations, program management, or similar organizations.
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years in a program or project management leadership role with solid-line management responsibilities or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel between 40-50%.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification and MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in automotive program/launch management in a customer-facing role.
  • Multi-functional experience, including product, validation, manufacturing engineering, and operations, preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple product development programs through to launch, with ownership of budget/cost/timing with customer approval.
