About The Position

As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Lewis Services, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor supporting our Region 1 operations. This role partners closely with regional leadership to strengthen HR operations, ensure compliance, support labor relations, and help drive organizational effectiveness across one of our largest operating regions. You will play a key role in supporting leaders, maintaining strong HR frameworks, and ensuring the region operates with consistent processes and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience
  • 5+ years of experience in union negotiation, labor relations, and contract administration
  • Demonstrated experience supporting recruiting, employee relations, and HR compliance initiatives
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to advise and influence leaders across a region
  • Knowledge of HR laws, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interpret and analyze policies, contracts, and HR documentation
  • Ability to effectively engage with operational leadership and field teams
  • Adaptability in fast paced environments while managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform repetitive computer tasks regularly
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, and lift or move up to 25 pounds

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for Region 1 leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Employee Relations on disciplinary actions, investigations, and sensitive employee matters
  • Support leaders and employees with questions related to benefits, total rewards, compliance, and HR programs
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership while ensuring consistency with company policies and practices
  • Communicate HR policies and procedures across the region and ensure consistent implementation
  • Maintain strong compliance standards and reinforce structured HR processes
  • Stay current on employment laws, regulatory updates, and compliance requirements
  • Proactively advise leadership and key stakeholders on regulatory changes that may impact operations
  • Support recruiting efforts within Region 1 and help ensure a structured and professional hiring process
  • Partner with regional leaders to define role requirements and support candidate selection decisions
  • Collaborate with corporate HR and recruiting teams to align workforce planning with business needs
  • Support labor relations activities, including interactions with union representatives
  • Assist with prevailing wage requirements, contract interpretation, and contract modifications
  • Participate in union negotiations and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders on compensation, employee relations, and benefits matters related to union agreements
  • Partner with the Training and Development Manager to support ongoing education and leadership development initiatives
  • Assist with new hire onboarding programs and supervisor development initiatives
  • Support training programs such as GF School and other learning opportunities for regional teams
  • Maintain a structured and well organized HR environment aligned with Lewis Services operational standards
  • Ensure HR processes are documented, consistent, and aligned with best practices
  • Collaborate with corporate stakeholders and regional leadership to support organizational planning and workforce needs
