About The Position

As a Regional HR Director, you are a trusted strategic thought partner to Sr. Area Managers (Sr. AM) and Area Managers (AM), helping them drive positive workplaces across the Region. In this role, you drive a positive workplace culture by providing timely, data-driven insights, coaching leaders on people decisions, and identifying leadership capabilities, gaps, and risks before issues escalate. You focus on complex and high-risk employee relations matters including performance management, involuntary separations, and accommodation requests ensuring fair treatment, legal compliance, and alignment with company policy. Routine HR activities remain with SMs and PCSs. You act as an employee advocate, mitigate organizational risk, and support a strategic people plan by your assigned areas. You partner with the home office on programs that enhance leadership development, engagement and retention, and you escalate issues as needed with clear recommendations to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Identify SMs and AMs needing support to build skills, partnering with the AMs, RD, and the Leadership Director to implement development plans for advancement or performance improvement.
  • Participates in interviews for Area and Store Manager positions, providing insight on the developmental needs of candidates.
  • Complete Exit Interviews, capturing feedback and identifying underlying issues to inform the AM or RD. Raise patterns/trends to the larger HR team.
  • Monitor employee feedback and HR issues to identify early signs of collective risk, partnering with AMs to address root causes and evaluate next steps.
  • Review key data related to hiring, turnover, reviews at AM level and other defined KPIs to surface trends and share findings with Sr. AMs and RDs.
  • Provides feedback to the HO HR Team, Leadership Director, Sr. AMs, AM and Regional Directors about opportunities for development and training materials based on interaction with field and common themes.
  • Partner with HO L&D, contributing to the design and delivery of people focused projects-work with People Cluster Support and Area Manager to ensure proper execution.
  • On occasion, carry out HR training sessions (i.e., reviews, positive workplace, performance management).
