About The Position

Shape safer, greener plants across the Eastern region Picture your Monday: you’re on the floor of a Food & Specialty facility, walking a line with operators, coaching on a near-miss, and planning a cross-audit for next week. By Wednesday, you’re reviewing accident investigation quality with a Plant Manager and aligning monthly KPI reporting before presenting insights to the EHS Director. Friday closes with sustainability data reviews and an action plan to advance Trivium’s long-term goals. That’s the rhythm of this multi-site role. Reporting to the EHS Director and grounded in our Core Values of Passion, Teamwork, and Excellence, you will lead Health & Safety, Environmental Compliance, and Sustainability performance for plants across the Eastern region—while supporting other H&S initiatives and projects as needed.

  • Experienced auditor with strong grasp of audit principles, methods, management systems, and organizational context.
  • Skilled in regulatory agency interactions (local and state).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site visits across Eastern region plants for audits, status reviews, incident investigations, and training.
  • Deliver practical H&S support: training, risk assessments, procedure and standard implementation (including ISO 45001 where applicable), internal audits, and cross-audit support to other operations.
  • Develop Trivium H&S standards and supporting documents; coordinate meetings and monitor safety systems and activities.
  • Challenge and coach Plant Management to implement business unit initiatives, achieve Trivium Safety Indicators, and address priority topics.
  • Escalate H&S concerns to Plant Managers and/or the Manufacturing Director when appropriate.
  • Review and approve accident investigation reports for quality; provide continuous guidance for improvement.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of monthly H&S KPIs in the management system; contribute input to annual PDR targets for plant leadership.
  • Assist with Risk Management, Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation matters as relevant.

  • Act as Environmental Management Representative for ISO 14001 systems.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, EPA, state agencies).
  • Oversee timely, accurate environmental reporting (e.g., Tier II, Form R, biennial waste, Emission Inventory).
  • Keep environmental plans current: SWPPP, SPCC, Hazardous Waste Contingency, Emergency Response Plan.
  • Build proactive relationships with environmental and safety regulators; participate in corporate EHS system audits at various sites.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Food Safety Policy, GMPs, HACCP principles, and Food Safety Standards.
