About The Position

As a the Regional Distribution Center Manager, will have complete responsibility for the overall management and performance of the Regional Distribution Center (RDC) including warehouse operations, private fleet and 3rd party transportation, Pre-fab services, assets, building and equipment maintenance, customer relations, information technology, quality and security. In addition, you will be accountable for achieving company objectives in safety, productivity standards and cost control goals. Primary Duties: Develop and direct staff to ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility and its assets. Foster a culture of honest communication, problem solving, safety, customer focus and teamwork. Oversee all distribution service activities to ensure customer requirements are met. Oversee job assignments and labor schedules. Develop and achieve yearly facility and capital budgets, develop KPI plan based on long-range labor needs based on forecasts and input from management. Focus on continuous improvement and make recommendations to management on programs to improve operations. Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards. Develop, establish and maintain a Continuous Improvement environment. Interacting with sales team, sales leadership and customers directly to better understand their needs and communicate our capabilities. Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination of training, and evaluation of the warehouse and transportation employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: monthly budget attainment, interviewing, hiring, training and cross-training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; developing KPI’s and appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure inventory control processes are in compliance and maintained in order to achieve the highest level of accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four year college or university; or high school diploma plus 1 to 5 years related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 year’s of direct management experience managing over 40+ employees.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of Radio Frequency/Warehouse Management System (RF/WMS) and warehouse operations is necessary.
  • Knowledgeable in DOT regulations and 3rd party transportation.
  • Extensive walking or standing for prolonged periods.
  • Sitting, use of hands/fingers, reaching with hands/arms, talking and hearing often needed.
  • Occasional stooping and kneeling.
  • Consistently lifting up to 75 lbs.; sometimes lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • To drive a forklift must have: close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), and depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the Electrical, Construction, or Manufacturing environments highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with Budget creation and direct budget accountability, Voice Technology, RF Technology and Epicor Eclipse WMS is beneficial.
