About The Position

The Regional Director of Warehousing will oversee all warehousing operations of facilities across all regional offices within the respective region. This role will provide strategic leadership, manage all facilities indoor and outdoor, and ensure alignment with company goals, contractual obligations, budgetary considerations, ensuring data accuracy, consistent use of tools, safety standards, and quality expectations. The Regional Director of Warehousing will assess risks, implement best practices, enhance efficiencies, and initiate continuous improvement to drive consistent execution across the assigned region. This role is based in Coppell, TX and will oversee warehousing operations for the South Central Region, which includes all locations in Texas, Louisana and Chicago, IL. The position requires frequent travel to lead initiatives and estabilish best practices across these locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, construction management, business administration, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Ten (10) years’ experience in warehouse management/supply chain/inventory control within adjacent industries to the heavy/industrial equipment, logistics, construction, machinery moving, warehousing or related fields.
  • Five (5) plus years in a senior leadership role; progressive leadership experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management; extensive experience supervising multiple facilities and leading diverse crews in a safety-sensitive environment necessary.
  • Proven experience managing multiple facilities, inventory controls, and complex projects simultaneously.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse management methodologies, inventory, budgeting, and risk assessment. Familiarity with 5S or Lean processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain software and technologies, including warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and data analytics tools; proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), and SharePoint.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, resource allocation, and project life cycle.
  • Highly self-directed and self-motivated, manages the efficient use of own time as well as the team’s time, and encourages efficiencies with others.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Skilled at analyzing complex project data and communicating related information to stakeholders and all levels of staff.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license or the ability to attain; and be insurable. Able to work on-site and travel extensively to project locations; comfortable with performing work in-office as well as field environments.
  • Leads high-functioning teams focusing on safety, integrity, and professionalism effectively in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Senior Warehouse Managers, Warehouse Managers, Warehouse Supervisors, and warehouse/yard operations staff across the region.
  • Develop and execute regional warehousing strategy, ensuring alignment with company values, goals, and objectives.
  • Establish and implement best practices, processes, and tools to optimize warehousing, communications, execution, performance, and profitability.
  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership in the planning, design, execution, and operations of all facilities (warehouse & yard).
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure operational success.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, consistency, and a continuous improvement mindset across all locations within the region.
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of warehousing from receiving, warehousing, loading, unloading & shipping. Ensure facilities are optimally utilized in a safe environment.
  • Ensure standardization in receiving and shipping documentation and reporting across the region.
  • Ensure effective warehousing by maintaining strict adherence to protocols, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and be proactive with adjustments, as necessary.
  • Work closely with sales and operations teams to forecast warehousing pipelines and the allocation of resources. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth project execution of all facilities.
  • Manage and monitor financial performance, cost controls, and profitability of facilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for warehouse or storage related issues within assigned region. Liaise with senior executives, clients, and stakeholders throughout the life cycle.
  • Manage client / customer expectations as needed, facilitate regular status update meetings, and provide frequent updates regarding client project status, milestones, performance, forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting utilizing internal systems (such as Portal & SharePoint) for historical reference and continuity.
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and professionally develop a high performing team of warehouse managers, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and encourage and implement improvements as needed to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve team effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to encourage retention.
  • Practice and demonstrate MEI values and lead by example.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards, building codes, and environmental requirements.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and insist all projects adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular facility visits to monitor safety, MEI performance, and customer relations.
  • Manage budgets and warehousing usage forecasts by regional office, ensuring facilities are optimally utilized.
  • Ensure cost control measures are established and implemented and that budget variances are identified and addressed promptly.
