About The Position

The Regional Director of People/HR provides support and guidance to a regional portfolio of 15 senior living communities within The Arbor Company. Within their assigned region, the Regional Director will work with a variety of leaders to ensure consistency and quality in all People-related practices. Key areas of focus will include support of hiring, training, coaching, retention, compensation and safety with the goal of ensuring that each community is following the established policies and best practices adopted by The Arbor Company. The Regional Director will serve as a member of a cross disciplinary team of corporate Support Partners who are dedicated to the success of each community.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Paycom preferred
  • Ability to travel 40-50% of the week
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • At least five years of human resource management experience required
  • At least three years experience supporting multi-state locations

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all open positions are accurately posted and that the hiring process is timely and thorough. Provide priority support for communities that face a staffing challenge and join regular staffing conversations in collaboration with Recruiting Managers
  • Monitor adherence to the company's compensation practices and recommend community changes where needed. Participate in the company-wide scheduled compensation review strategy meetings
  • Work with all leaders in a community to ensure that employee training is excellent, consistent and well documented to include new employee orientation and ongoing training programs.
  • Support the ongoing regulatory compliance of state and federal mandated training through ongoing inspection readiness audits, support during inspections, and when needed Plan of Correction guidance
  • Develop strategic plans to improve retention in communities where needed and participate in company-wide retention strategy conversations and planning
  • Support a coaching culture by working with community-based Department Heads to provide quality coaching in areas of performance improvement and growth/development
  • Provides guidance on benefits questions, concerns, and promotion
  • Ensure that employee recognition programs are in place and functioning well
  • Advise and supervise communities on any work-related safety programs and injuries
  • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
  • Conduct investigations related to workplace misconduct when requested
  • Partner in the leadership of company-wide DEI goals and programs
  • Participate in professional development and networking conferences and events
  • Participate routinely in Community Townhalls
  • Performs other duties as assigned
