About The Position

Shore United Bank is seeking a full-time Regional Credit Executive to join our team. The Regional Credit Executive (RCE) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and directing all credit administration activities within an assigned region of the bank. This position provides strategic credit guidance, ensures sound underwriting practices, and maintains the overall credit quality of the regional commercial loan portfolio. The Regional Credit Executive leads a team of credit underwriters and collaborates closely with the Regional President, commercial lenders, and executive leadership to support prudent growth, optimize risk management, and ensure adherence to the bank’s credit policies. Essential Functions Include: Credit Leadership & Oversight Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the regional underwriting team, ensuring consistent, high‑quality credit analysis and risk assessment. Maintain a deep understanding of the region’s loan portfolio, emerging risks, and market dynamics. Oversee the timely and accurate preparation, review, and approval of credit presentations within assigned credit authority. Monitor credit quality indicators and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Collaboration & Strategic Partnership Work in close partnership with the Regional President and commercial banking leadership to support strategic growth initiatives while maintaining strong credit discipline. Engage with relationship managers on deal structures, loan policy requirements, and risk grading considerations. Participate in regional loan committees and provide informed recommendations on credit decisions. Policy, Compliance & Governance Ensure regional compliance with all bank credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks. Identify opportunities to improve credit processes, efficiency, and consistency across the bank. Support the Chief Credit Officer in enterprise‑wide credit initiatives, policy development, and portfolio management strategies. Portfolio Management Evaluate the overall health of the regional commercial loan portfolio and monitor trends in credit concentrations, risk ratings, and industry exposure. Assist in the early identification and management of troubled credits, working with lenders and special assets teams as appropriate. Provide periodic reporting to the Chief Credit Officer and executive leadership on credit quality and underwriting performance. Leadership & Talent Development Recruit, develop, and retain high‑performing underwriters and credit analysts. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide ongoing coaching and assist with training initiatives to enhance the skills of the credit and lending teams. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, SAFE Act, etc.; ensures that the office and all personnel adhere to the same. Participates in required training sessions, including training for compliance with BSA/AML policies and procedures. Location: Fredericksburg LPO - 10 Chatham Heights Rd, Suite 104, Fredericksburg, VA 22405 Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time. Exempt Days of Work: Monday-Friday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
  • 10+ years of commercial credit, commercial banking, or credit risk experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Deep knowledge of commercial lending, loan structures, underwriting principles, regulatory requirements, and credit administration practices.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex credit transactions, and work effectively with executives and regional leadership.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and decision‑making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CBA, RMA) preferred.

Responsibilities
