Mission of the Role: We are seeking an experienced CPA to join our growing team as the Regional Director of Accounting . This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic accounting team and influence transformative change within a rapidly expanding organization. As a key partner to senior leadership, you will have autonomy to make an impact and help shape the future of acquisition accounting across the country. In this high-visibility role, the CPA will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting operations, leading a team of accounting manager, AP manager and staff, and setting the standard for best-in-class acquisition and integration accounting practices. This position is ideal for an accomplished professional with a strong background in transformational accounting, M&A, and acquisition accounting, and who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of accounting experience, with a strong background in public and private accounting
  • Active CPA license required. In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting and acquisition accounting principles
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a decentralized accounting team, with demonstrated success in developing and mentoring team members
  • Extensive experience with M&A, roll-ups, and acquisition accounting, specifically in the integration of newly acquired companies into financial systems
  • Experience managing accounting operations across multiple locations, including financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls
  • Experience with accounting ERP systems (Sage Intacct a plus) and implementing accounting processes that support rapid growth
  • Strong analytical abilities, with the capability to turn complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical accounting information for a wide audience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with high autonomy and limited supervision

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of controllers and accounting managers, setting the vision and strategy for a high-performing, scalable accounting organization
  • Spearhead the integration of newly acquired companies into the accounting and financial systems, ensuring seamless transitions and accurate reporting
  • Oversee regional accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, payroll, and month-end close processes. Ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP and groupwide accounting policies
  • Ensure that financial reporting is highly automated, accurate, and audit-ready, with the necessary internal controls in place to protect company assets
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems, driving greater efficiency and accuracy
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate a smooth audit process, providing all requested information and support
  • Assist with annual budget planning and long-term financial projections, offering insight into performance and areas for improvement
  • Manage and participate in special projects focused on improving the quality of financial reporting and streamlining accounting processes
  • Contribute to the development of a positive, collaborative team culture by fostering open communication and encouraging team growth and development
