About The Position

US Auto Trust is a Premier Luxury Automotive Group! We are proud to have a stable of legendary brands such as Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Pagani, Czinger, Lotus and Cadillac. The Regional Controller oversees financial operations and accounting performance for approximately four dealerships in Southern California. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, process consistency, and effective operational partnership. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Regional Controller helps define and implement companywide accounting processes in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Compensation: $160,000 -$210,000/year depending on experience

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Controller experience in automotive retail.
  • Strong leadership and team-development skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional influence.
  • Strong accounting foundation and analytical skills.
  • Highly adaptable and able to pivot quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Tech-savvy with evolving systems.
  • Current California Driver License.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial and accounting operations for ~4 dealerships.
  • Implement standardized processes, reporting, and controls with the Corporate Controller.
  • Support regional initiatives, system improvements, and cross-store operational projects.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to dealership leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams across assigned stores.
  • Provide coaching and structured performance management.
  • Establish consistent workflows, expectations, and communication rhythms.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, solution-oriented culture.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly financial statements.
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting policy compliance.
  • Review schedules and lead heat-sheet meetings to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee vehicle and parts inventory reconciliations.
  • Analyze AP/AR aging and resolve outstanding items.
  • Partner with General Managers and other members of the dealership team to ensure smooth and accurate accounting of the dealership operations.
  • Lead weekly department head meetings focused on AR and operational performance.
  • Manage license renewals and regional compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with General Managers and department heads.
  • Ensure alignment between accounting and operations for deal posting, inventory, and fixed ops reporting.
  • Translate financial results into operational insights and recommended actions.
  • Proficient with Dealership Management Systems (DMS).
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables).
  • Comfortable with digital reporting, workflow platforms, and document management tools.
  • Lead process standardization and continuous improvement across dealerships.
  • Communicate expectations clearly and train teams effectively.
  • Identify issues, propose solutions, and scale improvements
  • Complete month-end close within 5 business days.
  • Ensure schedules are clean and current prior to close.
  • Provide variance explanations and actionable insights.
