About The Position

This position will have the role of driving and facilitating Continuous Improvement activities across the Regional Sites (Calera, Verona, and Remote hydrators). The continuous improvement engineer will have a deep understanding of costs and business practices to aid in the regional organization working on things that bring great value to MLC’s business.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science (or equivalent experience without a technical degree).
  • Experience: 2 or more years related operational excellence experience in a top-notch manufacturing and/or service environment. Overall strong analytical capabilities with relevant experience in financial and general business background. Strong coaching, training and facilitating experience along with history of developing high performance teams.
  • Knowledge: Must be intimately familiar with continuous improvement philosophy, terminology, and tools application.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to the Regional Sites as necessary to drive activities and ensure continuous improvement at each site – 25 - 50%

Nice To Haves

  • Certification: Green Belt Six Sigma Belt certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with operations to identify improvement opportunities and assist organization in prioritization of continuous improvement.
  • Support planning that defines program scope and content.
  • Facilitate/lead/direct improvement projects across multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Promote effective use of contemporary problem-solving tools and industry best practices.
  • Coach and mentor project leaders and managers in change management competencies and strategies.
  • Maintain Continuous Improvement initiatives and tracking results of continuous improvement projects
  • Train and develop employees in problem solving methods and techniques.
  • Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities, as needed.
