About The Position

KIPP Public Schools Northern California seeks a Regional Clinical Supervisor to support Mental Health Clinicians across the KIPP NorCal region. Our innovative approach involves coaching and collaborating with education partners to serve all students through a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). This role blends clinical expertise, people leadership, and strategic execution to advance KIPP NorCal’s vision for equitable, integrated mental health programming. In this role, you own a defined set of department Key Results and decide how to achieve them. You escalate trade-offs that require your Director's authority. People management is role-specific at this level and described in Core Responsibilities below.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in school-based mental health or similar setting
  • 2+ years of supervision, coaching, or clinical leadership experience
  • Experience owning or contributing to quality assurance, compliance, or program outcomes
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field
  • Current California LCSW (preferred), LMFT, or LPCC in good standing (minimum 2 years post-licensure)
  • Completion of BBS required supervision training
  • Expertise in clinical supervision, staff development, and performance management
  • Strong understanding of MTSS, trauma-informed practices, and school-based mental health systems
  • Ability to analyze data, manage complexity, and drive outcomes
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent oral and written communication, relationship building, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

  • Must have a valid CA driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, concentrate for sustained periods, analyze complex information, and make decisions under normal work pressures.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Supervision & Coaching Provide high-quality clinical supervision and leadership to a team of mental health clinicians
  • Design and lead individual and group supervision aligned to best practices and regional goals
  • Coach clinicians to deliver evidence-based, culturally responsive interventions
  • Manage clinical performance, including assessment, treatment planning, progress monitoring
  • Partner with school leaders on clinician performance, support, and alignment to school needs
  • Serve as a regional leader in crisis consultation and response
  • Quality Assurance, Compliance & Systems Leadership Own regional performance on quality assurance, documentation, and compliance metrics
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, county, and organizational requirements
  • Oversee psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and Medi-Cal billing compliance
  • Lead audit readiness, utilization review, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Identify systemic risks and implement solutions to improve quality and efficiency
  • Uphold ethical and legal standards of school-based mental health services
  • Regional Strategy & Program Implementation Lead execution of regional mental health initiatives aligned to department priorities
  • Co-develop and implement clinician training and professional development systems
  • Collaborate with Director and cross-functional teams to refine tools, systems, and programming
  • Drive consistency and quality of MTSS-aligned mental health services across schools
  • Build coalitions with internal stakeholders to ensure integrated student support
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Leadership Build strong partnerships with school leaders, educators, families, and regional teams
  • Provide consultation to multidisciplinary teams to improve student outcomes
  • Align mental health services with academic, behavioral, and school culture priorities
  • Communicate clearly and proactively across stakeholders to support decision-making and alignment
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to a culture of growth across the team
  • Other duties as assigned
